Hello Everyone!
Let me first clarify that I am typing on a French keyboard, so some letters, mainly M, A, and W may be kinda screwy.
Well, my first day in Brussels ended up being quite enjoyable and a great way to start the trip. After the post I walked around a little and then got a nice 3 course meal for 10Euro in the touristy area of town. As I dozed off at the table, I realized that sleep was what I needed most and thus went home to go to bed. In the middle of the night a bunch of cars started honking, presumably because of the Euro Cup games. I dont know who one, though.
This morning I got up at around 7, took a shower and went to one of my favorite things- free breakfast at the hostel! Although European and thus spartan in proportion, it was very good and decently filling! Next I went exploring and came across some palaces and gardens. At 10, the museums opened and I spent 3 hours exploring the Musées Royaux. There was a whole spectrum of historical and modern art.
Next up I walked around and came across the same streetvendor that I got a Gyro from yesturday and had another for lunch. At 3.50 euro, its a steal! I then hopped on a train and went to Michelen, a small town half an hour from Brussels. With my Eurail pass I can just pop on a train and go anywhere! It rocks.
There, I poked around some cathedrals and historical buildings and got the feel of a Belgian town, and let me tell you, it feels nice. Since all this walking has been tiring, I took a nice little nap in a grassy median- very refreshing! Tomorrow I head to Paris at 8AM and then the adventures really begin!
