Spain...
is not what Ven Conmigo, my spanish textbook, makes it out to be. Spain is a gajillion times better! Oh my. Im sorry that I haven´t updated in a while, I´ve been as busy as a bee, and it´s midnight, I just realized! It´s funny to think that it´s only 3 pm in the States.
Anyways, I´ve already left Seville, but let me tell you about it. It is the most beautiful city EVER! Simply georgeous! We stayed in this hotel that was in this tiny street, where if you walked out of the hotel door without looking, there was a good chance of you being run over by a runaway Vespa. We had ¨tapas¨to eat, which is basically mini half-meals made of various things, like pork and bread, etc. It´s great. We saw a BULLFIGHT!! Now, let me just say that if you are frequently in agreeement with PETA, shift your eyes now.
Bullfights are the goriest things I have ever encountered. Basically, they bring a bull in, play with it, and then a man on a horse comes and stabs in in the back with a spear, causing blood to flow. Then, people on foot come up and daringly attach hypoons to the bloodied back of the bull, and they do this six times. Then the matadore comes out and plays with the bull as it charges, and then finally takes his sword and plunges it through the bull´s back and into its heart, causing it to fall to the ground, coughing up blood. They do this with 3 different matadores, with 2 bulls each.
IT WAS AWESOMEEEEEEEE!!! I loved it, even though it was very bloody and grotesque. It was the spirit of spain. Wow. And that was only Seville! Oh, and before I forget, on sunday night I ate sea anenomy and cuttlefish eggs. MMM! Not half bad! Although my dad got sick.
Next, meaning yesturday, we rented a car and drove down to where I am now, the TRYP hotel in Cadiz, Spain. It´s right on a georeous beach on an island connected to the mainland. Basically, it´s Coronodo. The hotel is really cool. We watched the soccer game between Czech and USA. I was rooting for Czech, and they won 3-0. Yes! Their next game will be played while im in prague waiting for my team to arrive! Talk about passionate Czechians being witnessed by another passionate USA-an!
Ok, so today... Today was amazing! We drove to a town on the southern tip of Spain and took a high speed ferry to the northern tip of AFRICA, which is Tangier, in Morocco. I thought it would be pretty dry, but a bunch of tourguides swarmed us when we got off the boat, and the one who claimed to have gotten there ¨first¨was Joseph, and he powned. Majorely. He had a bus and we took a whirlwind tour of Tangier, including looking at the King´s summer residence there, and going to the beach as well as RIDING CAMELS! I RODE A CAMEL!!! it was sooo exotic. haha, they made funny noises.
Anyways, then we went back to Tangier and started to walk through the city´s tiny streets. They speak Arabic and French there, so I was quite lost, but Joseph knew how to roll. There was a snake charmer! He had a black cobra and another snake that he put on my neck! it was cool! Then we went shopping, and my parents had the most passionate and intense barganing session with this guy selling a hand made rug from the Atlas Mountains. Lets just say we got an insane deal, and in 10 weeks, there will be a handmade moroccan rug under our dining room table. They also threw in two mini silk rugs for me and my brother. It´s going in my room, definetly.
Then, on the way home on the ferry, we hit some swells, and everything was falling inside the boat, and everyone was puking, eww. Luckily I didnt and we survived.
Well, that´s all my little fingers can type right now, at 12:15 AM, so I´ll see you later! Thanks for the comments!
