Disculpame!

Well, here I am. In Madrid. The last day in Spain! It's so sad! This country is amazing. What I once thought was a decrepid, tastless, permanently in the 80's place, (as Ven Conmigo portrayed it), I now know to be a beautiful, culture-filled, and heart-warming place. I love it here!

Anyways, today was actually pretty good, despite Madrid's appearance of being a boring city. But first, I must tell you, dear reader, what I did to relax on that fateful first night here in the dreadful hotel. What I did, outside, on the roof of my Hotel at 11 at night, was the Hustle. Twice. That wonderous dance from the 70´s livened up my spirit, and left me happy and relaxed. I think the people in the other building thought I was wierd, though. Thank God for the Hustle! It was easy for me to do, thanks to the patented Dalton/Brownlee EZ-STEHP DanSE Program!

So, that was the first night. Now, last night was pretty swell. I ate at the OLDEST restaurant in the WORLD. I know, it sounds lame, but I had roast lamb, and I got bragging rights (if you can call them that) that I ate at the oldest restaurant in the world. We walked home and these really short people tried pick'pocketing my mom. They weren't succesful, though, as an elderly Spaniard warned her of the impending burglery. That was interesting.

Then this morning we went to the flea market! It was really exciting, and there were a ton of people. I got two belt buckles- the British flag and a chrome Bull. Pretty sweet. There were shops that sold EVERYTHING. I was going to get a soccer jersey, but figured I'll find better ones elsewhere.

SPANISH CULTURE TIDBIT- People in Spain really dont care about bumping into people. In America, we try and avoid any violation of personal space, and enthusiastically apologize if we break that barrier. Here, you can run into someone and they don't even look up! They just dont care about people bumping into them or themselves bumping into others. Curious...

Today is the last day in Spain! Tomorrow at about 2:00, I leave for Prague! Now, you may be thinking that we're getting to the end, or even the middle of our trip, but we're not even a third done! We've got a long ride ahead of us. Are you ready? Because I know I am!

And now, a SHOUTOUT TO KATRINA! Thanks for all your comments, and I'm glad I can entertain you even just a little bit! I wish you were here, experiencing the thrill of Europe. Anyways, you stay classym, Katrina, and I wish I could have seen you again before you leave for Cali again.

Well, that's all for now. As we enter the Mission Trip stage of this adventure, I'm afraid the blogs will come less frequently, maybe once or twice a week. Sorry all of you faithful readers!

¡Adios!

I really wish I could be there too! I'm leaving Arizona next week, Christina and Brittney are going to be out of town all of July and I did not know this when I made my plans to stay here until mid-July, so to say the least I will be coming back to Arizona in August to make up for lost time. Maybe I will see you when I come back.
Have fun with your last day in Spain,
Katrina

Hey you!
Since this seems to be the popular entry to blog on, I guess I'll join the trend! It sounds like you're having a blast and I'm so proud of you for doing the Hustle! If only I could have been there to witness it...and laugh. :) Have a wonderful time in Czech, I told Devo to tell you hi for me! So if he doesn't, at least you know he was supposed to. We leave for Guatemala Friday and are so unprepared! Ok well have fun and be safe!
