Good evening everyone! I have just come back from a couple days at my godparents' estate in the English countryside! It was fantastic. They have a pool, a jakoozy, and a nice house where I could sleep in. It was great, and it was far less hot than here in London, but warmer than Edinburgh. I enjoyed seeing my god-family after about 10 years of not seeing them. They're really cool, and were very hospitable. I basically hung around all day, visited a little village, had tea on a farm thing, and generally relaxed. Perhaps one day I will relax there again...
Anyways, so I am back in London, after a long car ride back, and a gruelingly HOT Tube ride. It was downright disgusting. I didn't know I could sweat so much. Yuck. So I am back in London, foggy Londontown where it is quite hot, but I am not here for long- I am taking a day trip to Oxford tomorrow, and another to Cambridge on Friday, and then Saturday and Sunday are for relaxing in London and seeing the London School of Economics and Political Science and maybe the University College London, or something. And then, my dearest of readers, I am due back in the United States of America on Monday! I am really excited to be going home, although I know that the minute I arrive in PHoenix, I will be begging to be brought back to my dearest Europe.
Now for a bit of British culture- BIG BROTHER
No, I am not talking about George Orwell's "1984", but rather a gigantically popular reality TV show in Britain- one of the first, might I add. So, this program is about a bunch of people being locked up in a house for 3 months to be watched over and terrorized by the public, and one roommate being evicted every week, all to fight for a prize of 100,000£. Every single day they have a review of what has gone on, and they even have TV stations broadcasting live what is going on in the house. They are put on food rations and given impossible jobs to do, all the while trying to keep the public happy with them, because the public decides who leaves or stays. Compared to US reality TV, it's quite strange and somewhat scary. Anyways, I have been watching it for the last couple of weeks, and I don't really like it, but the Brits are obsessed with it. Hm. I like The Real World better.
So, that's it for now! Leave me some more delicious comments, and I will see you all soon!
