To my right, out the window of this internet cafe, the Berlin TV tower, that famous landmark from many an action movie, rises out of sight into the air, with a big pink T Mobile soccer ball on the top to commemorate the World Cup, which ended 5 days ago.
That's right! I'm finally at the portion of my trip where I fly solo with nobody to weigh or slow me down. It's actually an interesting story how this separation from the group happened. Whats that? You want to hear the story? Ok, here it is:
So last night the team had a de-briefing meeting which unfortunately ended at about 1:30 AM. Knowing that I wouldn't see my team mates again, I said my goodbyes, packed most of my bag, set my clothes and documents out for the next morning, set my alarm, and went to sleep. Now, being the careful person that I am, I set my alarm for 5:45, so that I would have half an hour for getting ready, 40 minutes for getting to the train station which is ten more than I would need, and be 20 minutes early for my 7:22AM train.
I woke up at 6:50AM.
Apparently I did not hear my alarm, and it didn't repeat itself, so I woke up half an hour before my train was to depart. As you may imagine, I was in quite a state. I was running everywhere, freaking out, got a taxi, and arrived at the train station at 7:20. I bolted through it, looking for what terminal I needed, and got on the train with a minute, literally, to spare. It was INTENSE. But I felt like I earned my train ride.
I had a nice breakfast in the dining car, which was a great way to chill out after that traumatic experience. The ride was about 5 hours, but it passed quickly, and I really enjoyed the terrane. Then I arrived in Berlin, checked my big bag into the Luggage place so I wouldn't have to carry it everywhere, got lunch, and bought a day ticket on the transit system, arriving here, at this internet cafe. I really like what I've seen of Berlin so far, I can't wait to explore it more.
I guess you want to hear about Prague, and I'll tell you about it. It was amazing! I seems like it would be a large city, but it's actually quite nice and small. I really enjoyed the buildings and the shopping at the bizzare Euro stores, even though I only bought a Czech soccer Jersey from Puma. It's swell. The Charles bridge is amazingly beautiful. It was made in the 1300's and people sell their artwork on it. There are also some great musicians, like a 7 piece band that played jazz from the 1920's on instruments from that time. They were the coolest! I could have listened to them for hours, but it began to rain so they left. Anyways, Prague is amazing and I would love to visit it again someday.
Well, that's all for now. Thanks for the comments and stuff! Stay classy.

Welcome to Germany!
My parents just told me that you already called them and that they are expecting you tonight. They have put togehter a whole written program for you for the next two days, so you'll be busy ;-)
I hope I'll get a chance to talk to you on the phone while you are staying with them. Enjoy the rest of the day in Berlin!
